Why would you want a twin bed rather than a full or larger bed? The first consideration is the size of the room. The room may not be big enough to take a larger bed, especially if you want a canopy bed. If the room must sleep two, you can save space by using a trundle bed under the twin, allowing for more room in the day and only requiring the room for two twin beds at night.
If the size of the room is not a concern, then there is the primary use of the room. If the room is used for hobbies or an office, and only occasionally used as a guest room, then a single bed, made up as a couch or day bed, can be the solution to the problem. If you want to sleep two occasionally, then a futon couch/bed may be the trick, giving you a full size bed rather than a twin bed. Or you can still use a trundle bed under the twin, allowing two people to share the room without having to sleep in the same bed.
Twin bed furniture is a standard set up for a guest room, allowing two people to share the room without requiring them to sleep in the same bed. Metal beds, especially brass, can add sparkle to the room. With the heads of the beds against the same wall, you can use material drapes to make them grander and give the impression of royalty. Two beds arranged in a corner save some room and make the room less formal. If the room is big enough, you can add trundle beds under both beds and sleep four in the room. Family reunions may predicate this kind of density and still keep everyone off of the floor when sleeping (although trundle beds are so close to the floor only the young will enjoy getting in and out of them).
Twin beds arranged side by side and covered by the same bedding become what is known as a California king size bed. Special bedding is needed for this arrangement, but it is available. This arrangement is better for people who move frequently as it is much easier to get twin bed mattresses and box strings in and out of a house than a king size mattress. (The king size box springs are usually in two pieces, thank goodness.)
Finally, there are bedroom furniture sets that use a twin sized bunk over a full size bed. This arrangement allows a room to sleep three people, and only one has to climb up to bed. This may be a good arrangement for a guest room as well, although it makes the bedding situation more complicated.
Ready to get a twin bed? It is a versatile bed, and with a change of bed frame can become a day bed. The addition of rails provides a toddler bed if needed. Twin bed in a bag linens are available in many colors and patterns, even more than are available for the larger size beds because of the juvenile patterns only available in twin bed size.
In all these cases, you can pamper your guests with luxury bedding in the right sizes. Add a vase of flowers, a few books, sample toiletries, and your guest room id ready.
